an is a lifetime PNW resident, working in art & design. Growing up surrounded by subcultures such as skating, BMX, and garage rock directed his art direction and style. While studying digital art at the University of Oregon, he stumbled into a campus job in the fibers department. His supervisor taught screen printing and introduced him to the letterpress studio which quickly blossomed his love for letters and typography, moving it away from graffiti and into more traditional forms of lettering arts such as calligraphy, typesetting, and eventually traditional sign painting. These analog processes now influence his creative process and take up much of his free time. When not in the studio, Ian makes wine with his partner and a variety of local natural wine producers, cycles around town searching for new eats and digging in the crates for old rap and hiphop records.
