Being a global brand means we need to limit our sales to customers in the USA only. We used a combination of Javascript Geolocation, DNS Geo referencing based on IP and a series of caching pass-throughs in order to pull this off.
A bit of animation and lot of detail goes into every product landing page. This allows the page to act as both a sales tool and educational tool.
Union has one of the best snowboard teams ever assembled, and the sheer volume of riders that support the brand as ambassadors became a bit of a challenge to administer and display well on the internet for various devices... but we did it, and we did it well.
We used the team profile pages to highlight many of the amazing adverts Union has created over the years.
Truly a work of wonder, this blog auto populates as the user reaches the bottom of the page to ensure they never get bored. We also added in some nifty AJAX filters just in case you wanted to narrow in the posts that interest you most.
With the wonders of Javascript and HTML 5 geolocation enhancements we can narrow in on a map of retail stores that are closest to the customer. No refresh needed.
One of our greatest challenges for the year was developing a new system that would streamline product warranty applications and reduce physical waste of trees (yes, paper comes from trees). Our new web application now greatly reduces customer confusion and time served on warranty procedures by our administrative support team and global network of distributors.
To help effectively educate our customers and provide a more clear form of communication for our customer support team, we developed an interactive parts finder. Some parts had the additional benefit of displaying a "buy now" link.
In order to ensure clear communication with the customer, we auto deliver an email with pertinent tracking information after the warranty application has been processed and approved by administrative team.
Every page of the website lets site visitors easily add their contact email to our ever-growing email list.
